Huxley (footnote)

Aldous Huxley's "The Doors of Perception" described mescalin in many interesting ways. A cactus from Mexico called Peyote is where the drug mescalin originates from. A dose of mescalin can take a person to another level of consciousness. Huxley explained his reaction to this drug in a unique way. He noted that after taking mescalin he began to see things in a different perception. He noticed that colors were more vibrant and live. He also mentioned that his true mind aroused and this allowed him to see things with an inner light. Huxley also said that during the time he was under the influence of mescalin he was able to be more aware of the inner world. Another idea that has been suggested by Huxley is that every person sometimes needs a chemical vacation from his distasteful surroundings.

ABSTRACT

When was the last time you trimmed your nails? Dr. Marie Claire's theory that trimming nails can impair your vision turned out to be accurate. She handpicked six students from Santa Rosa College to help her do the experiment. The students then were separated into two groups. Group A was to grow their nails and trim them as less as possible. Meanwhile, Group B was asked to grow and trim their nails frequently. Over few years it showed that group A has more protein known as F4/80 which helps eye cells than group B. Since nails are mainly made up of protein the team believed that trimming nails occasionally can preserve protein that helps cell communications in eyes. The conclusion is that nails may play an important role in improving your vision.

Cubism

Cubism is an art form that highlights numerous right angles in painting and sculptures. It was a movement that started in the 20th century. At first, the concept of cubism was unclear, but after doing research ,I was able to understand this form of modern art. It reminds me of animal faces and other strange things. One piece in particular had bold colors and broken structures. There was a ladder with broken steps, but it still stands. It came across as a lesson in life. In life,we should be strong and not let the negative aspects effect us. The vibrant colors reflect the beauty of life. One can look at cubism, and imagine various things without trying to decipher its true meaning. The complexity of cubism can be misunderstood in many ways. This type of modern art might seem unimportant to some, but there are ways one can relate it to daily life.

Last winter,I visited my family in Canada for two weeks. The whole trip was very enjoyable, and the most exciting part was all winter sports. My first experience of snow tubing was the most memorable one!. I didn't have any clue what "snow tubing" was the whole time. The whole process of sitting on a tube holding it tightly, and being pushed down from the top of a hill wasn't very appealing at the first time. In the beginning, I made sure that my eyes were shut tight, and I was saying my prayers right. After the first few attempts I got over my fear, and actually started enjoying it. It was a great, and fun experience.
